On the 16th October, 2009 IPMC College of Technology held a sports festival at the Ghana Prison’s headquarters in Accra. The games saw all the IPMC branches get together for different games in various disciplines such as soccer, basketball and volleyball.
In attendance were students from the Labone branch, who presented teams in all the disciplines whilst Ring Road branch also presented teams for soccer, basketball and volley ball. North Legon branch showed their strength as one the favorites by presenting a full house team in all disciplines. Teshie, Tudu and Tesano branches presented incomplete teams, hence their merger for some games like football.
Labone branch was the finalist with Tudu in the basketball game, but Tudu decided to quit the game ahead of time to go and watch the under 20 world cup finals. This development gave North Legon the spot to take on Labone for the final match which saw Labone triumphant. All the matches were professionally refereed by the Basketball coach of the Ghana Prisons Basketball team.
In the game of Volley, Labone again became winners with Ring Road trailing as the second runners up. Ring Road came first for soccer with North Legon placing second.
Labone branch took home two trophies for Basket and Volley ball respectively whilst Ring Road took the Football trophy.
