As part of the corporate social responsibility of IPMC College of Technology, students of the Teshie branch of the school, presented items worth GH¢ 300 to the Teshie Orphanage at Teshie in Accra.
Miss IPMC 2009, Teshie branch, Naa Anorkor Abbey, who was in the company of some of the students and staff presented the items to the orphanage. The items included used and new clothing, cooking oil, a bag of rice, detergents, toilet rolls, etc.
Presenting the items, Ms Abbey, said that the donation was aimed at sharing with the inmates of the orphanage.
According to her, the school was using that medium to make the public aware of it’s existence and the contributions it had made to society by imparting computer knowledge to people.
She further stated that it would continue to help bring relief to the authorities of the orphanage and called on other organisations and institutions to emulate the gesture.
Mrs Janet Anyeley Parker, the proprietress of the orphanage, expressed appreciation to the students
for the care and desire to help bring joy and
happiness to the needy and deprived in society and
assured the items would be used for the intended
Purpose.
